Blue Shino Pouring Cup

Hand pinched, pouring cup with foot ring made from white stoneware clay.   By hand forming it is easy to manipulate the shape and to thin the walls to leave a slightly undulating rim.   

 

A satin matt, smooth white glaze has been used inside and out and a blue Shino glaze has been added to the rim to trickle down the sides naturally, which is intentional as are any dimples or finger marks on the piece.  I've also daubed the Shino into the well of the cup and I've repeated it over my mark on the outside.

 

NOTE: There is a hairline kiln crack at the base where the foot ring meets the body.  This doesn't affect the cup's usage.  The price is slightly lower than the other pouring cups for this reason.

 

Food and dishwasher safe.

While every care is taken to pack well, the fragility of ceramics does mean that breakages can occur in transit.  For this reason, I am more than happy for you to collect in person from my studio in SW London (Southfields/Wimbledon).  Just let me know before purchase.

 

Returns are accepted but at the buyer's expense and a refund will only be made once it has arrived back in perfect condition.  I cannot refund if the item arrives broken.  Always talk to me first because if there is a problem we may be able to resolve it to save making the return.
