Mandarin Orange Vessel
Stoneware hand-moulded pot using sodium silicate over a Mandarin orange ground and then handstretched to create a crackled surface to give an instant 'just dug-up' look.
A textured border and a cross lozenge decorate the main body which has a high collared rim.
A wash of manganese oxide has been wiped over the body to settle in the cracks. This gives a lovely metallic sheen which is pure alchemy.
The inside has been finished with a soft, satin matt orange glaze with a satin matt transparent glaze over the exterior to seal.
High fired for a fully vitrified finish/non-porous finish.
Diameter approx. 12 cm at widest - across the belly
Height approx 14 cm
