Chunky Black Clay Vessel

Straight-sided vessel in chunky black lay and treated with slips and finished in a lovely rosy-orange glaze outside and a vibrant Persian ble glaze inside.  The clay has been torn like the others in this series to create a natural edge and closed using my hand-made button stamp which has ben repeated for a pattern around the lower edge of the pot.

Suitable for a vase or plant pot holder but NOT SUITABLE FOR FOOD due to the high content of oxides within the black clay although the over-glazes are perfectly food safe.  

If using for water as a vase, make sure you protect furniture as, whilst it will hold water, low-fired clay does sweat at the base and can damage your furniture.
