Dimples Jar

Textured black clay with added texture. 

Using slips, stains and copper oxide over an impressed dimples textured pattern.  A light wash of matt transparent glaze on the outside with satin white glaze inside.  The black base area is left raw and unglazed for contrast.

 

Any holes or cracks in the body are integral to the design of the piece. Its the natural result of how I stretch the clay and I do not try to patch up or cover over any natural flaws, which makes each piece unique and one off.  

 

It is high-fired so is suitable as a vase.
