Copper Jar

Textured black clay with added texture using slips and stains.

Copper oxide has been added on the textured trims and inside glazed in shiny green with added copper oxide.  The rest of the body has been left raw and unglazed.  

 

Any holes or cracks in the body should be viewed as integral to the design of the piece. Its the natural result of how I stretch the clay and I do not try to patch up or cover over any natural flaws, which makes each piece unique and one off.  

 

It is high-fired so is suitable as a vase.
