The Votive Bowl

Hand pinched, deep bowl with undulating rim made using chunky black clay.  

The outside of the bowl has been left raw and unglazed to show the rough, chunky nature of the black clay.  This allows for a sharp contrast to the inside, which has been painted with a translucent jade coloured and shiny Celadon glaze.

 

When used as a votive/t-light holder, the shiny interior twinkles and the holes in the bowl body allow the flickering light to create shadows on the adjacent wall.

 

To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.

While every care is taken to pack well, the fragility of ceramics does mean that breakages can occur in transit.  For this reason, I am more than happy for you to collect in person from my studio in SW London (Southfields/Wimbledon).  Just let me know before purchase.

 

Returns are accepted but at the buyer's expense and a refund will only be made once it has arrived back in perfect condition.  I cannot refund if the item arrives broken.  Always talk to me first because if there is a problem we may be able to resolve it to save making the return.
